SUMMER WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!
Finally, you think, when school lets out for the school year. You go home from the
last day of school and run around the house once, trying to release your excitement. Then you sit
down on the couch and flip on the television.
Ask yourself this: Is That All You Will Be Doing This Summer?! Just clicking
intensely on the buttons of the remote? PLEASE! Oh no! Not the doughnuts and candy too!
Well, just to get your butt off the sofa (or computer chair), I have some hints to make your
summer... well, more enjoyable.
Here we go:
1. Get a beach towel, sunscreen (preferably, My Little Pony Block Protection =P), an umbrella,
and a book and lay down by the rushing waters of the water park. Get Some Sun Girl!!!!!!
2. Start a club, have a topic to have it for and have fun! Gather friends and more friends to join.
3. Join a sport or just have homemade fun and jump in your sprinkler.
Pick, a couch potato or real fun and relaxation?

A DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE
All dancing ponies gather up your leather jackets, skirts, and boots ‘cuz a Daddy
Daughter Dance is happening at DV lake this Friday afternoon and night. All Dads and
Daughters come out to the dance floor; there will be refreshments by my cottage. Sea Mist will
be our lady DJ for the night. So you all better come down!

MOTHER SON BANQUET TOMORROW NIGHT
Like the Daddy Daughter shin-ding, here comes a Mother Son dinner. It will be at
the Pony High school at 8:00pm tomorrow night. You all better boogie down ‘cuz whoever's the
best dancing couple will receive a prize! I don't know what the prize is, but I'm going to take
dancing lessons tonight.
How will I be at the Daddy Daughter dance and the Mother Son banquet at the
same time? You can just say... I'm magic
Recently, all of the Sea Ponies have volunteered their time to teach any pony how
to swim in the Paradise Estate pool! Baby Cotton Candy told us that she loves to swim and "now
mommy [Cotton Candy] will let me swim!" There have been great reviews about this swimming
school. Wave Splasher told me herself that all the ponies including all Baby Sea Ponies, Gusty,
Applejack, Blue Belle, Parasol, and others will swim VERY well by the end of the summer.
What's next ponies, the Olympics?!
Mix oats, flour, and apple juice in a large bowl until lumps are gone. Stir in
cinnamon and raisins. Mix vanilla in warm water, and add, mixing well. Stir in banana and
optional dried fruit. Let stand for 15-20 minutes. Mix again and pour into non-stick 8-inch
square pan. Bake at 325o-350o for one hour or until browned.
16 servings. Each serving equals one whole grain allowance.
Here's the deal-- pick your favorite pony in the list, then e-mail me at J854M@aol.com to
place your vote. Simply type in the pony's name that you want to vote for. The results will be in
the next newsletter! Thanx!
Here's the scoop on what's happening from Paradise Estate to Flutter Valley!
Enjoy!
All of us ponies want to welcome two cute little newborn twins into the world! The
beautiful pony Buttons had them, and she was very surprised. "I've always wanted twins!" she
says. The newborn ponies will be called Baby Buttons and Baby Bows. Both of them girls!
Chocolate Delight has a new summer job working at the Satin Slipper Sweet
Shoppe with Lickety-Split and Scoops, while Strawberry Scoops is spending her summer there,
too. Buying Strawberry Swirl ice cream from the Sweet Shoppe, that is!
Posey happily announces that at the Ponyland Flower Show, her posies won first
place! She was rewarded with a blue ribbon and gardening supplies for her loved garden! For
Posey, that's the best prize ever! Congratulations, Posey!
The Flutter Ponies tell us that they are holding a surprise celebration in honor of
Honeysuckle's birthday. There is to be games, singing, presents, and in charge of all the yummy
snacks are Bon-Bon, Cherries Jubilee, and Sweet Stuff. Now we know the food is going to be
great! Let's all not miss this sure to be awesome surprise party!!
All of a sudden, in Paradise Estate, there just seems to be not enough room. The
Bushwoolies and little pony friends are always staying over, so Mimic had the idea to build a
guest room. And that precisely what Mimic, Glory, Dancing Butterflies, and Truly are now
working on. If any other ponies wanna give them a hand, just meet them at Paradise Estate! I
know I will!
OK, well, there's now two ponies who I think have a crush on each other. I mean,
they do look made for each other! Tropical Pony Sea Breeze and WigWam, couple of the
month!
That's about it for now, but Ponyland Gossip will be back next issue!!
The new fad-- the swimming team. Ever since the Sea Pony Swimming Race, us
Little Ponies have gotten into it, too! Judging by the looks of things, there will be many more
swimming races for ponies and Sea Ponies. The last pony swimming race was also the first. The
winners, again, are: first place-- Princess Serena. Second place-- Moonstone. Third place--
Shady. And in this race, there was also a fourth place winner-- Firefly. "My wings got wet!!" she
grumbled. "I can't believe SHADY beat me." Congrats, to all of you! Especially Shady, who
thought she couldn't do anything!
Another new fad-- cool swimsuits!! Of course, this "in" thing really relates to the
first one I mentioned, but it also is neat! Wind Whistler thinks wet suits are more practical, but
Moondancer, Firefly, and many others agree it's much more fun to wear swimsuits. Glory brags
about her new tie-dyed blue, yellow, and green one, but Pina Colada insists that her hot pink one
with golden suns is prettier!
Computers are also big in Ponyland. Starlight got one for her birthday, but she lets
everybody use it. Lofty, Bow-Tie, and Bubbles like it the most!
Ever had (or have) one of those ponies that you just can't figure out who is?
E-mail me at J854M@aol.com with it's description and I;ll tell you who it is! The results will be
in the newsletter next issue.
Doodles and her twin, Noodles, were playing in a sandbox outside of the Lullabye
Nursery. Doodles was digging a hole in the sand to see how deep it went.
"I don't think you'll ever get to the bottom of the sand," said Noodles. "You'll dig
so far down you'll fall in and no one will ever find you again."
Doodles was annoyed at her brother. But her was probably just teasing. He was
still annoying though. Then Doodles heard someone crying.
"Listen," she said to Noodles. "Someone's crying. Let's go see what's
wrong."
"Okay," Noodles agreed.
They found Dibbles under a tree.
"What's wrong, Dibbles?" Doodles asked. "We heard you crying!"
Dibbles tearfully replied, "I can't find Nibbles anywhere! She was here about an
hour ago, but then I went to get a snack and she was gone!" Dibbles started crying harder than
ever.
"Don't worry, we'll find Nibbles," Noodles said. "Maybe she wondered off into the
woods."
Doodles exclaimed, "Maybe she left hoofprints! Let's look!"
The three baby ponies searched around until Doodles yelled out excitedly, "Come
over here! I think I found them!"
They all looked at the hoofprints Doodles found and agreed that they must be
Nibble's.
"Look where they lead to," Noodles said. "Into the forest!"
"But we have to find Nibbles!" Dibbles exclaimed.
"I never said we weren't going into the forest!" Noodles said. "Of course we
will!"
The hoofprints followed a trail, so they could follow that. They had walked a little
ways when they came to a small pond.
"Let's jump in and cool off a little!" Doodles said excitedly.
Dibbles jumped in first, then Doodles and Noodles. They splashed around until they
felt like walking further.
But Nibbles exclaimed, "Oh no! The trail ends ahead!"
"Maybe we'll find more hoofprints," Noodles said hopefully.
But when the three reached the end, they could not see any signs of Nibbles.
"I guess we'd better go home now," Dibbles said sadly. "Maybe Nibbles is back
there now!"
But she didn't look to happy. When they got back to the pond, Doodles exclaimed,
"Look! It's another path!"
And Noodles said, "And hoofprints on it!"
The ponies ran along the path, hoping to find Nibbles. Then Doodles saw an
opening in a row of bushes, and Nibbles was inside, looking around sleepily.
"We found you!" Doodles said happily.
The four ponies walked back to the nursery, feeling glad that everyone was happy
now.
"Hey guys, guess what Wednesday is!" quizzed Patch as she walked into the ice
cream shop Monday after school.
"Uh, Labor Day?" said Starlight.
"How about National Baker's Day?" asked Bon-Bon.
"No, I know! It's Chain Links' birthday!" exclaimed Melody.
"Nope. You're all wrong. Wednesday is MY birthday!" Patch told them.
"I'm really truly sorry I forgot, Patch," Sweetheart apologized.
"Hey, are you having a party?"
"Yeah, Lancer, it's on Saturday at one. I'm inviting everyone here."
"Oh, sorry Patch, but I can't come. I have a big soccer game."
"That's all right," confided Patch as she turned toward Teddy.
"I can't come either. It'll probably be dumb, anyway," Teddy said.
"Oh, thanks, I like you too," she replied sarcastically. "What about the rest of you
guys?"
"I promised my mom I'd help her out here all day Saturday, since she broke her leg,
sorry," explained Starlight.
"I'm going to visit Moki and her family and Sweetheart's coming with me," said
Bright Eyes.
"I'm having my very first concert with the Rockin' Beats; sorry Patch," Melody
said.
"What about you, Clover?" Patch asked her.
"Uh, I have a ballet recital; I'm really sorry, Patch," Clover whimpered.
"Well, there goes my party. I invite eight ponies and not a single one can come."
She stomped out of the shop and headed home.
Once there, Patch lay in bed and thought. I've got to give them a lesson
somehow. This was going to be so much fun, but now it's ruined. I know.......
* * *
The next day at school, Patch didn't seem upset anymore. She even seemed happy.
"I'm glad you got over the fact that we can't come to your party," Melody told
her.
"Yeah, I guess you could say that......" The bell rang and everyone rushed into the
building. Everyone had just settled in their seats when....
Whoosh!
"Ewwwwwwwww!" the class yelled. Melody stood up and saw a whoopee cushion
on her seat.
"Gotcha!" Patch yelled, laughing.
Later in class, Bon-Bon tapped Patch on the shoulder. "Patch, can I borrow a
pencil?"
"Sorry, I've only got a pen, but you can use that."
"Thanks." Bon-Bon smiled as she took it. She started writing with it, but it
wouldn't work. She started shaking it and then looked inside. Splat! Ink flew all over her face.
She was covered!
"Gotcha!" Patch yelled again.
At lunch, Patch gave Teddy, Lancer, Sweetheart and Clover rubber food instead of
real. "Gotcha all!" she laughed hysterically.
When Bright Eyes went to the front of the class to read her report, Patch
snickered.
"That was very good Bright Eyes, now take your seat," Miss Hackney commanded
when she was done. Bright Eyes tried to leave, but her feet were stuck.
"Bright Eyes, I said take your seat," the teacher repeated, annoyed.
"I can't!" squealed Bright Eyes and the class laughed. It took half the school to
finally pull her out of the thick layer of Stick Forever glue.
"Gotcha!"

After school, all the ponies were at the ice cream shop except Patch.
"She has been so annoying today!" sighed Bright Eyes.
"I think she's really truly just mad because we can't come to her party," Sweetheart
put in kindly.
"Well, she's in for a big surprise," said Starlight while she poured chocolate syrup
on her sundae. When she was finished, she took a bite. "Ummm, this is good, but it tastes
strange for some reason."
"Starlight, are you feeling OK?" asked Clover.
"Yeah, why?"
"Look!" Starlight looked in one of the huge mirrors and gasped as she saw she was
drooling and foaming at the mouth.
"Patch!"
"Gotcha!" Patch peeked in and then ran off.

The next day, as Patch headed towards their secret clubhouse, she realized no one
else was even close. That's funny, she thought to herself as she approached the small
white and blue building they called their house. She walked to the door and peered inside. It was
dark and empty.
"I wonder where they are?" She cautiously opened the door.
"Surprise!" everyone yelled. Patch shook her head and looked. There were all her
friends: Bon-Bon, Clover, Melody, Teddy, Lancer, Bright Eyes, Starlight and Sweetheart. There
were balloons and confetti everywhere, and everyone had on a party hat. Even Teddy looked
kind of happy. They all started singing: "Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!"
"Whoop dee doo, Whoop dee doo," Teddy said unenthused.
"Open up a present! Open up a present! Just for you! Just for you!" they finished.
Then a colorful person jumped in.
"Hey, Patch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It was Binky the clown! He blew Patch out the
door, but she held on to it. She came back in when he was done.
"Wow, thanks everyone! Now I feel really bad about all those jokes I played," she
grinned, "but they were fun!"
Binky taught Patch how to be a good clown. "First you have to be very loud!" he
yelled, "Like this, Hey Patch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She flew out the door again. "Hey Patch!!!!!!!" And
again. "Hey Patch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He repeated it about five more times and then asked, "Can you
guess what the second secret to being a good clown is?"
"Annoying?"
"Yeah, Patch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" When she came back in, she said, "OK, now it's my
turn. Hey Buddies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Everyone in the whole clubhouse flew out the door as if a tornado had swept them
away. Binky tried to grab onto the door, but he was too heavy, so it broke under his weight.
When he was back, patch asked him, "How was that?"
"Tweet, tweet. Tweet, tweet," Binky said as he fell on the floor dizzily. Everyone
laughed.
"Here, Patch. Open up your present," said Melody, handing her a big box. She
unwrapped quickly and lifted it up.
"Cool, a skateboard!" she exclaimed. "Thanks a lot!" She tore it out of the box
and admired its green wheels and shiny yellow paint.
"Teddy bought it for you," Bon-Bon explained. "He didn't know about the Binky
thing, but he wanted to get you something."
"Thanks, Teddy!" Teddy smiled for just about the first time in his life. Patch was so
happy, she felt ready to burst. "This is the best birthday I've ever had!"
